Privacy Policy

Last updated: 19 January 2025

Radarix (“we”, “us”, or “our”) protects the privacy of every driver who relies on our speed camera alert application (“App”) and related services (“Services”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you download, use, or contact Radarix.

Information we collect

  • Account & contact data. Name, email address, phone number, and password hashes when you create an account, join TestFlight, subscribe to premium, or contact support.
  • Location & driving data. GPS coordinates, heading, speed, and trip segments processed on your device to deliver timely speed camera warnings. Raw driving data is not stored by Radarix servers; we only retain anonymised aggregates and event markers for quality assurance.
  • Community reports. Camera confirmations, hazard reports, thumbs-up/down votes, and media you voluntarily submit. Reports are linked to your account for moderation, but public displays do not show personal identifiers.
  • Device & technical data. IP address, device model, OS version, app version, language, and crash diagnostics to keep the App secure and reliable.

How we use information

  • Provide real-time alerts about speed cameras, speed limits, and road hazards.
  • Verify and improve the accuracy of our camera database and community reports.
  • Respond to support enquiries, billing questions, and deletion requests.
  • Detect fraud, abuse, or tampering with location submissions.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

Sharing and disclosures

We do not sell personal information. We may share data with trusted processors (hosting, map and navigation providers, analytics, customer support) operating under data protection agreements. Crowd-sourced alerts may display the approximate time of submission and confidence score but no personal identifiers. We disclose information when legally required or to protect Radarix, our users, or the public.

International transfers

Radarix hosts data within the European Union and Türkiye. If we transfer information elsewhere, we rely on lawful transfer mechanisms (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) and apply appropriate safeguards.

Data retention

We retain account records for as long as your account is active and delete or anonymise them upon request. Community reports and aggregated driving statistics are retained for up to 24 months to maintain database accuracy. You may request deletion or export of your data via privacy@radarix.app.

Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to our processing of your personal data, as well as the right to data portability. Submit any request to privacy@radarix.app and we will respond promptly in accordance with applicable law.

Security

We implement technical and organisational measures such as TLS encryption, strict access controls, and continuous monitoring. While no service is perfectly secure, we act quickly on vulnerabilities and encourage users to report issues to security@radarix.app.

Children

Radarix is not directed to individuals under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us so we can delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notice. Continued use of the Services after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
